Many Manhattanites make weekly, three-day weekend trips to the Hamptons after Memorial Day to escape from the hot, smelly grime of New York City. If you are one of these people and you crave a more laid-back feel but still want the exclusivity on your mini getaways, make a detour on your trip to the Hamptons this summer.
Enter a tiny, one square mile village called Sea Cliff located on the Gold Coast of Long Island. The village boasts a variety of eclectic shops but hidden amongst these is the rarest, most spectacular gem. Meet Artaux Catering, situated on the corner of Sea Cliff and Glen Cove Avenues.
Chef James Muir’s high-end catering company, Artaux, has been in Sea Cliff for the past three years. Last month, Muir decided to open up part of their space and turn it into a private dining area.

What to try:
Everything. No seriously. Pick any item on the menu. You will not be disappointed.
Vegetarian? Try the Tomatoes Salad.

Prefer richer food with phenomenal taste? Try the Foie Gras.

Thirsty? The “Lavender Tonic” is calling your name.

How do you feel about lamb?

On Thursday, Chef Muir introduced a new chilled lobster soup, which I highly recommend for the coming sweltering days.

Have a sweet tooth? Flan and Rogel, obviously.

Be sure to make a reservation this summer! You will not regret it.
